Our mission is to bring about a vibrant community where people lead fulfilling lives and make meaningful contributions

We employ and train interns who have developmental disabilities for ten week periods to help develop skills to enable them to be employed in the community. Since 2014, twenty five (25) people have participated in the internship opportunity. 100% have developed new skills and 80% of interns are either employed in the community or actively seeking employment once they complete the internship. Additionally, 20% of Art & Clay’s permanent workforce is comprised of people with disabilities. Art & Clay on Main helps to show that a diverse workforce increases morale. Teams that include people with disabilities have higher productivity, longevity and lower absenteeism and turnover. As of May 2021, 46% of our permanent staff are adults with disabilities.
